Dr. Connie Bitso, Director of the University of Fort Hare Libraries has been elected Chair-Elect of the Association of Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) Africa Chapter, a professional community that “bridges the gap between information science practice and research”. Dr. Bitso aims to advocate for and advance information literacy across the African continent:
“I want to establish an engaged community among African information science students. This initiative will empower students and promote collaboration across Southern, East, West, and North Africa.
