Our Story

CHELSA (140-828-NPO) strives to strategically position itself for increased visibility and impact, embracing the power of collaboration and partnerships in achieving its mission. CHELSA’s role is to provide national leadership through guidelines and frameworks; standards and benchmarks, and principles for best practice.

CHELSA aims to improve library and information services for public higher education and research in South Africa. We aim to transform existing library practices in Higher Education to respond to existing and new realities and to lay the foundation for the development of a learning society.
