CHELSA congratul
ates Professor Mpho Ngoepe, who took the reins as Executive Director: Library & Information Services at the University of South Africa (Unisa) on the 1st of September.
Prof. Ngoepe is Professor of Information Science and has held numerous positions, including Director of the School of Arts and Deputy Executive Dean at the College of Human Sciences, both at Unisa.
He has served on various committees and boards, including the National Committee of the South African Society of Archivists and the board of Eastern and Southern Regional Branch of the International Council of Archives. He is currently on the Provincial Archives Advisory Council of Limpopo Province.
Prof Ngoepe has published widely on the topics of libraries, archives, records management, audiovisual archives, oral history, auditing, and corporate governance and in 2020, he received the Unisa Chancellor’s Prize for Excellence in Research.
