State of South African Academic Libraries Report

By September 10, 2021Reading

CHELSA is pleased to present The State of South African Academic Libraries Report with the theme, “Embracing New Frontiers”.

Commissioned as a project of the CHELSA Executive and sponsored in part by the South African Library and Information Trust (SALI), the report is informed by data collected from an online survey directed to all 26 public funded higher education libraries during November 2020.

The report provides a broad overview of academic libraries within the context of a changing South African higher education landscape and its response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The notion of “new frontiers” speaks to shedding old restraints, unlimited opportunities, optimism and future orientation.
